  • Description:
According to the collapse of USSR, in all parts of former Soviet Union, as a legacy of the stalinian politics, the interethnic relations became stressly, driving to territorial claims. Nagorny Karabagh (NKR) situation catch in fire all South Caucasus and led to a military conflict between Azéris and Armenian peoples, associated with radical ethnic cleansing on nationalism background. For Armenia, it is a real security implication, due to many tragic historic facts, but Azerbeidjan looks at this situation as an offense to its territory integrity. A lot of people were displaced as a continual coming and going, while many villages were destroyed. NKR war cause serious consequences on social and spatial organization in this part of Caucasus, meaning hard geopolitical uncertainties about future in this region under interests of superpowers.
