Several European operators of high speed rail services have recently launched an alliance named Railteam, aiming at smooth international rail travel. A paneuropean network is being offered around five hubs. Because of the high number of passengers and its wide spectrum of high-speed services, Brussels has emerged as the first and most important of these.
