Description:
An analysis of the dung beetles communities (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae) has been carried out in Corsica (valley of the Fango). 39 species have been collected. They are distributed according to several factors ; the most important are density and height of the vegetation. Most species usualy live into open stations and they disappear as scrub become closed. The quantity of organic matter which is incorpaorated into the ground has been estimated for the dung beetle Geotrupes spiniger Marsh. Its action is most important into open stations.
