<jats:p>SUMMARY. — The article contains a translation of Pierre de Maricourťs letter On the magnet in to french. The translation is based on the editions of T. Bertelli and G. Hellmann. The latin text and the translation are presented together. They are preceded by a small introduction which permits to the reader to orient himself and there is a commentary in the foot-notes of the translation. There is added a collection of words translated differently than usual ("technical terms").</jats:p>
