<jats:p>The term "architectural process" is considered as a key modern tool for describing the development of architecture and is examined from the perspective of its functioning in the professional publications about architecture and from the perspective of it as a subject of scholarly architectural research. The concept of architectural process in publications on architecture acts as a synonym for the concept of architecture, while in scholarly publications emphasis is placed on it as an event evolving over time. A new term is proposed, "architectural process structure", as one of the components of the architectural process. Understanding the category of architectural process from the standpoint of its structure is a stage towards understanding the development of latest architecture.</jats:p>
