<jats:p>Abstract. Since 2004, the European Geosciences Union (EGU) brings
together experts from all over the world into one annual event covering all
disciplines of the Earth, planetary and space sciences. This special issue
in Advances in Geosciences comprises a collection of contributions from the
Division on Energy, Resources and the Environment (ERE) which were presented
at EGU2020: Sharing Geoscience Online.
