<p>The face of the present Karlstad delta is to a large extent affected by human activities during recent decades. To reproduce as much as possible of the original topography and morphology of the recent delta region, a map related to the year 1924 was constructed. Sources of information, methods of preparation and accuracy of the compiled map are described and discussed. To investigate the distribution of different delta elements and to characterize the delta, quantitative analyses are carried out on the map information.</p>
