Description:
Indagator fordii Halford, described as a monotypic tree genus in the Sterculiaceae-Helmiopsideae from Queensland is shown to be incorrectly placed there and better placed in Brownlowiaceae/Malvaceae-Brownlowioideae (formerly Tiliaceae). It represents the second generic record of that group from Australia. Its conservation status is assessed, its affinities discussed and a key to the genera of the Brownlowiaceae-Diplodisceae is presented.
