Description:

The palynological and ¹⁴C studies undertaken on a little peat bog located in the «Forêt de Desvres [Pas-de-Calais]» have shown the history of the local vegetation since 130 BC ± 70 (Lv 726). The most conspicuous fact is an extension of Fagus between 940 ± 60 AD (Lv 725) and 1220 ± 55 AD (Lv 767) with a maximum dated from 1120 ± 40 AD (Lv 724). This first and unique maximum is very late compared with the datations from the FI in Belgium. This fact is important to establish a local biochronology. The climatic origin or the human interference on this extension must be specified in further studies.
