Includes two manuscript inserts. One small leaf of manuscript music (verso with blank staves) laid down to outer margin of page 169, folded, with text in Italian and Geman, the latter in red ink and in German script. 10 pages manuscript music (slightly smaller in format and 1 blank leaf bound between last page of printed music and rear endpaper, with text in Italian. Both inserts in the same hand, aside from the German underlaid text
Manuscript fold-out adds the recitative of Neptune ("Voce di Nettuno") in act 3. Part of the original edition, this does not appear in the present edition
Manuscript leaves inserted at end of the score include a "Recit. e Duetto" in A major for Idamante and Ilia; the duet is "Spiegarti non poss'io" (K. 489) composed for the 1786 performance in Vienna at Palais Auersperg, the last performance during Mozart's lifetime. The manuscript table of contents correctly identifies it as an alternative to the duet "S'io non moro" from act 3, which is part of this edition
Manuscript table of contents and list of characters, in Italian, written on recto and verso of front flyleaf; includes added music from manuscript insertions
Pencil annotation on recto of front flyleaf and pitch correction on page 126
