Dans les textes scientifiques et techniques, certains groupes nominaux sont caractérisés par la longueur de leurs éléments de part et d’autre du terme-noyau. Parmi ces éléments existent des sous-ensembles structurels, appelés adjectifs composés, qui sont caractérisés par la grande variété des catégories syntaxiques de leurs constituants et par la diversité des relations sémantiques qu’ils entretiennent. L’objet de cet article porte sur les difficultés d’interprétation de telles relations.
Scientific and technical texts are very often characterized by lengthy segments on both sides of the base-word of the noun group. Among these are found structural subcategories, referred to as compound adjectives. They are characterized by the great variety of their constituents’ syntactic categories and by the variety of the semantic relations existing between them. Our article is concerned with the problems of interpreting such relations.
