Place de la télédétection dans les Systèmes d'Information Géographique (SIG) pour le « Global Change » (Remote sensing and GIS for Global Change)

Résumé. - L'apport des données satellitaires à l'analyse de l'environnement, aux échelles zonales, régionales et urbaines est au programme de toutes les unions et comités scientifiques travaillant sur le programme «IGBP-Global Change» (Programme International Géosphère-Biosphère) lancé en 1984 par l'ICSU (Conseil international des unions scientifiques) à Ottawa (Malone and Roederer Ed. 1985). Le développement rapide des systèmes d'information géographique (SIG) est en relation directe avec les besoins nouveaux apparus en télédétection des milieux physiques et aménagés à toutes échelles, à partir de bases de données géographiques (BDG) intégrées aux cycles d'enregistrements dans la lumière visible, le proche infrarouge, l'infrarouge thermique et les bandes radar. Les géographes participent à l'effort d'enseignement et de recherche sur les SIG.
Abstract. - Multiscale and multisatellite data for environmental research are an important part of the scientific programs of ICSU Unions and committees working for « Global Change » in IGBP since 1984 (Ottawa, Malone and Roederer éd., 1985). The integration of remote sensing in GIS is fundamental for Earth resources and Global mapping, and new developments in the field of GIS are growing rapidly, in relation to the need of computer-aided-mapping resulting from the combined processing of databases and multisensor's data (visible, infrared and radar). Geographers are involved in teaching and researching in the field of GIS.
