Las prácticas funerarias moche son bien conocidas e ilustran la fuerte jerarquización que prevaleció en esta sociedad compleja. A pesar de la existencia de cementerios en el sitio Moche, se han encontrado varias sepulturas en el sector urbano. En este artículo presentamos una pequeña construcción aislada, fabricada con adobes, localizada en la mitad sur de la planicie entre las dos huacas de Moche, estructura que fue usada como cámara funeraria. Las ofrendas recuperadas que acompañaban al difunto son de estilo Moche IV, pero es más bien la construcción sobre el nivel del suelo circundante lo que le confiere originalidad. Un fechado radiométrico AMS se suma a los elementos arquitectónicos y a la cerámica para discutir acerca de este particular tipo de entierro de un grupo social.
Un type particulier de sépulture dans le secteur urbain du site Moche, côte nord du Pérou Les pratiques funéraires Moche sont bien connues ; elles illustrent la forte hiérarchisation qui prévalait dans cette société complexe. En dehors des cimetières du site Moche, dans le secteur urbain, plusieurs sépultures ont été découvertes. Cet article présente une petite construction en adobes qui fut utilisée comme tombe ; cette structure isolée se trouve dans la moitié sud de la plaine, entre les deux huacas Moche. Les offrandes accompagnant la défunte sont des céramiques de la phase stylistique Moche IV, mais c’est plutôt l’aménagement de la sépulture au-dessus du sol qui lui confère son originalité. Une datation radiométrique AMS, les éléments architecturaux et la céramique constitutent autant d'éléments permettant de caractériser un type de sépulture propre à un groupe social.
An unusual type of burial in the urban sector of the moche site, north coast of Peru Funerary practices of the Moche are well known and they show that a strong hierarchy had been established within this complex society. Although cementeries existed at the Moche Site, burials are often found in the urban sector. The goal of this paper is to present a peculiar small adobe construction, used as a burial chamber, in the southern part of the plain between the two huacas. Ceramic vessels typical of Moche phase IV are the predominant offerings but it is the construction above ground that gives the funerary feature its originality. An AMS date, the architectural elements and the ceramics are used to discuss this particular burial type of a social group.
