Résumé. — L'incinération primaire, bien attestée dans le monde romain antique, présente un intérêt particulier pour l'étude d'un aspect mal connu du rituel, l'organisation du bûcher funéraire. La fouille de sept incinérations primaires trouvées dans la région lyonnaise, en contexte de sauvetage, a été l'occasion de mettre en oeuvre une analyse spatiale des sépultures, de comparer différents protocoles d'enregistrement et de préciser l'intérêt et les limites d'une telle approche, notamment dans les conditions de l'archéologie préventive. Une telle étude montre qu'il est possible, avec des méthodes appropriées, de préciser quelque peu les conditions et les étapes de la crémation, de mettre en évidence, de manière plus ou moins détaillée selon les cas, l'organisation interne du bûcher et de la la position initiale du sujet et du mobilier qui l'accompagne.
Summary. — Primary incineration, well established in the ancient Roman world, is especially interesting for a study of the funeral pyre, a little known feature of the rites. With the discovery and subsequent salvage excavation of seven primary incinerations in the Lyons region, we were able to conduct a spatial analysis of the tombs, to compare different recording methods and to determine the interest and limits of such an approach, particularly under conditions of anticipatory archaeology. Such a study shows that with the appropriate methods, we can explain somewhat the conditions and stages of the cremation and describe, in more or less detail for each case, the internal structure of the pyre and tomb, the initial position of the subject and its property.
