  • Description: Templar Houses along the Spanish Ways to St James of Compostela. One of the activities that was profitable for the Temple Order was the control of strategic enclaves (bridges, ports, sanctuaries. . .) along the ways that led to Compostela. However, when it comes to the Iberian peninsula, historiography has only looked at some of the establishments that were found along the so-called « french way » (the section of the route that led from Estella-Navarra-to Santiago). In addition to this, this article presents other Templar houses located along secondary routes which crossed the different peninsular kingdoms (Catalunya, Aragon, Castilla, Galicia and Extremadura).
