Après la présentation de la chronologie générale du Marduel à travers les sondages préliminaires (voir le tome 5, 1982, p. 5-32) et de l'occupation du site durant l'Antiquité tardive (voir le tome 7, 1984, p. 111-110), ce troisième article amorce la publication systématique des vestiges protohistoriques de la fouille principale (du changement d'ère au Bronze final). Les auteurs analysent les données stratigraphiques et architecturales, puis le mobilier correspondant selon un découpage en phases chronologiques. Plusieurs habitations sont étudiées d'un point de vue morphologique et technologique (des chapitres abordent les techniques mises en oeuvre liées à l'usage de la pierre, de la terre, . . . ). Il en va de même pour les ruelles avoisinantes et le tronçon de rempart archaïque doublé.
The stratigraphy of Marduel (Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard) III - The levels of the 2nd and 1st cent. B.C. in the "Central Sector". After the publication of the general chronology established from preliminary test excavations (see volume 5, 1982, p. 5-32) and of the Late Antiquity occupation (see volume 7, 1984, p. 111-119), this third article begins the systematic publication of the prehistoric material from the main excavation (from the turn of the Christian era to the Late Bronze Age). The autors analyse the stratigraphical and architectural data, and then the material according to chronological patterns. Several houses are studied from a morphological and technological point of view (chapters debate of techniques employed in the use of stone, earth...). The same method is applied for the study of the neighbouring streets and the section of the archaic rampart.
