The map, the insets and the explanatory notice include a brief study of the geobotanical subdivisions of the lebanese territory. From the botanical point of view the authors emphasize the presence of two floristical suites : on a mediterranean sensus strictus, the other presteppic mediterranean. The subdivision into vegetation levels and series of each suite was made in relation with the different abiotic factors (climate, substrate and topography) and the structure of the main plant groups. The potentialities of those structures are valorized by taking into consideration the anthropic use of the landscape.
La carte, les cartons et la notice explicative comportent une étude sommaire des divisions phytogéographiques du territoire libanais. C'est ainsi que, du point de vue botanique, les auteurs mettent l’accent sur la présence de deux ensembles floristiques : l'un méditerranéen sensu stricto, l’autre méditerranéen présteppique. Au sein de chacun d'eux la subdivision en étages et séries de végétation a été établie en fonction des divers facteurs abiotiques (climat, substrat et relief) et des structures des principaux groupements végétaux. La prise en considération de l' utilisation du sol par l'homme fait par ailleurs ressortir les potentialités majeures de ces structures.
