L'historiographie latino-américaine, parce qu'elle surgit d'un continent relativement jeune et marqué par un métissage culturel particulièrement complexe, dispose d'une sorte d'"avantage comparatif" par rapport aux traditions historiographiques plus anciennes de certaines régions, pour relever les défis posés par la fin prématurée du vingtième siècle historique. Dans cet article, on essaie de faire le point sur les nouvelles voies de l'historiographie latino-américaine.
Because Latin American historiography springs from a relatively young continent, marked by a particularly complex cultural interbreeding, it has a sort of "comparative advantage", over the older historiographical traditions of certain regions, in accepting the challenge brought about by the premature end of the historic Twentieth Century. In this article, the author attempts to take stock of the new paths of Latin American historiography.
