Description:
The paper poses, at first, the problem of the homogeneity of the Coal Mining Area. Next to an unquestionable unity, founded on the landscape, on the legacies of coal mining and industries, the paper demonstrate that the Coal Mining Area has ever been very broken up and has juxtaposed numerous partitioned territories. Today, the desindustrialisation, the numerous changes lead to recombining on new bases, in closer connections with outer areas.
