  • Description: Cet article présente trois importants thèmes de recherche concernant la mesure et la représentation graphique du cyberespace. Ce faisant, il fait le point sur quelques références essentielles.

This paper examines three important research themes concerning the measurement and mapping of Cyberspace, providing references to key literature and further information. First I look at the innovative ways of mapping Cyberspace that are being developed in the field of information visualisation, which will be unfamiliar to many geographers. The next section examines some of the key statistics that can aid our understanding of the Internet and the Web, focusing in particular on Africa and Web site popularity. The research note concludes by reviewing recent work on spatial analysis of Internet infrastructure, applying classic geographic techniques for network modelling.
