RÉSUMÉ L'aménagement industrialo-portuaire de Zeebrugge représente un cas exemplaire de constitution d'un pôle de croissance sous l'action conjuguée de la puissance publique nationale et des intérêts locaux et régionaux. L'émergence d'une nouvelle Porte Océane sur le littoral n'a pas manqué de susciter un certain nombre de conflits, principalement à l'échelle interportuaire. Au niveau local, la controverse fut plus limitée, en dépit des déficiences initiales de l'aménagement du territoire, qui ont conduit à un morcellement particulièrement peu fonctionnel de l'entité urbaine zeebrugeoise.
ABSTRACT The rise of the port-industrial growth pole of Zeebrugge has arisen thanks to the simultaneous actions of the belgian State and of powerfull local and regional interests. Most of the opposition to the building of this new oceanic gateway came from other national ports, while the lack of a proper urban planning at the initial stage has led to a non functional fragmentation of the Zeebrugge urban area.
