Depuis 1977, les recherches en cours conduites au sud du plateau jordanien ont mis au jour plus de 40 sites épipaléolithiques dont 20 ont été fouillés. Au moins cinq grandes entités chrono/culturelles ont pu être identifiées (Qalkhien, Kébarien, Kébarien géométrique, Moushabien et Natoufien) qui représenteraient des segments de deux courants évolutifs.
Since 1977 on-going research along the southern edge of the Jordanian Plateau has resulted in the discovery of over 40 Epipaleolithic sites and the excavation of 20 of these. The investigation has identified at least five high order archaeological taxa (i.e. Qalkhan, Kebaran, Geometric Kebaran, Mushabian, and Natufian complexes) representing cultural-chronological segments of at least two evolutionary streams.
