Up until the sixties, the scientific world had an imperfect and erroneous conception of the topography of Senlis in the early years of the Roman Empire. The archaeological evidence available today is insufficient to enable the formulation of a plan of Augustomagus' urban space. There subsist large gaps in our knowledge of the street system and the administrative and commercial structures peculiar to any expanding urban area. Future research will need to be directed along these lines.
Jusque dans les années 1960, la communauté scientifique avait une conception imparfaite et erronée de la topographie de Senlis au début du Haut Empire. Le constat archéologique actuel, bien modeste, ne permet toujours pas de proposer une organisation de l'espace construit d' Augustomagus. Des lacunes importantes existent au niveau du réseau viaire, des infrastructures administratives et commerciales propres à toute agglomération en expansion. C'est dans ces directions que les recherches futures devront être menées.
Bis in die 60-iger Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts hatten die Wissenschaftler eine falsche und unvollkommene Vorstellung von der Topografie von Senlis zu Beginn der friihen Kaiserzeit. Der aktuelle, recht bescheidene, archäologische Kenntnisstand erlaubt es auch heute noch nicht, einen Bebauungsplan fur Augustomagus vorzuschlagen. Es stehen viele Fragen offen, hinsichtlich des Straßennetzes, der Inf rastrukturen von Verwaltung und Handel, die zu jeder im Aufschwung befindlichen Ortschaft gehören. Die zukünftigen Untersuchungen sollen diese Lücken schließen.
