Cet article a pour objectif de présenter les résultats d’une fouille préventive réalisée en 2015 dans la haute vallée de l’Arc, en marge d’une villa d’époque romaine dont une grande partie de la pars fructuaria, à vocation vinicole, a été explorée. Un grand four à double couloir de chauffe très mal conservé, ainsi qu’un lot d’une quarantaine d’amphores apparemment produites sur place entre l’époque augustéenne et la fin des années 20 ap. J.-C., permettent d’évoquer la présence d’un atelier domanial. Après la présentation du contexte régional et des résultats de la fouille, une analyse chrono-typologique des fours augustéens provinciaux est proposée puis sont examinés les différents types d’amphore produits. Replacées dans le riche contexte archéologique de cette partie du territoire de la cité d’Aquae Sextiae, ces données illustrent une fois de plus l’importance du développement de la viticulture de rapport d’époque julio-claudienne en Narbonnaise orientale.
This paper aims to present the results of a preventive excavation carried out in 2015 in the upper valley of the Arc, on the periphery of a Roman villa of which a large part of the pars fructuaria has been explored. A large kiln with very poorly preserved double heating corridor as well as a lot of about forty amphoras apparently produced on site between the Augustinian period and the end of the 20’ s AD, allow to evoke the presence of a dominial workshop. After the presentation of the regional context and the results of the excavation, a chronotypological analysis of provincial augustean kilns is proposed, then the different types of amphora produced are examined. When placed in the rich archaeological context of this part of the territory of the city of Aquae Sextiae, these data once again illustrate the importance of the development of viticulture in Gallia Narbonensis.
