Une fouille de sauvetage urgent a révélé en 1986, au lieu-dit Creac'h Gwen près de Quimper, les vestiges d'un important habitat de la fin du haut moyen-âge. Cet établissement, ordonné par un réseau de fossés, comportait notamment un bas-fourneau, un four à sécher le grain, ainsi que les restes de plusieurs constructions sur poteaux, dont un grand bâtiment "à trois nefs". La céramique, abondante, mise au jour dans ces structures, forme un lot homogène et original, aux formes parfois inédites.
A rescue excavation carried out in 1986 at Creac'h Gwen near Quimper, revealed remains of an important seulement dating to the end of the early medieval period. This seulement, situated within a system of ditches, comprised a smelting furnace, a corn-drying oven and the remains of several post-hole constructions including a large aisled building. The ceramic associated with these structures forms a homogeneous and original group containing hitherto unknown forms.
