Le but de l'étude est d'élaborer une typologie des grandes entreprises agricoles de la Beauce. Les données ont été traitées grâce à des méthodes graphiques de classement (méthodes Bertin). La dimension de la matrice (251 exploitations, 32 variables) dépassait les capacités de traitement du fichier-image et celles de la matrice graphique ordonnable. On a donc été amené à les utiliser de façon complémentaire : les différents classements du fichier image, avec un nombre limité de variables, ont servi de base au choix raisonné d'un nombre réduit d'exploitations traitées ensuite sur la matrice avec toutes leurs variables. Des corrélations positives, négatives ainsi que des absences de corrélations ont été mises en évidence au cours des différentes opérations de traitement. Une classification synthétique des grandes entreprises agricoles de la Beauce et sa répartition dans l'espace est proposée.
Large farms in Beauce : an experiment in typology by visual processing of data. — The aim of the study is to develop a typology of the large farms of Beauce. The data were processed according to visual methods of classification (the Bertin methods). The scale of the matrix (251 farms, 32 variables) exceeded the individual processing capacities of both the « fichier-image » and the « matrice graphique ordonnable ». It was therefore decided to use these facilities to complement each other : the various classifications of the « fichier- image » with its limited number of variables were the basis for a selective sample of a reduced number of enterprises which were then processed on the matrix with all their variables. Positive and negative correlations, as well as absence of correlation, were demonstrated at different stages of processing. At the end of the study is proposed a synthetic classification of the large farms in Beauce, with a description of its spatial repartition.
