Description:
Economists can consider landscapes as consumption goods in a market-based economy, and then try to appreciate their value through methods : transportation costs, hedonistic prices, or contingent evaluation. They can also think about the production of landscapes, which are rather special goods thanks to their unique or exceptional character. Isn't there a risk, through an increasing trend towards the valorization of landscapes, to differentiate excessively territories according to their patrimonial quality, and thus to reinforce exclusion processes ?
