Precise neural control of muscle tone, reflexes, and voluntary movements relies on circuits operating through the fusimotor neurons. Fusimotor neurons or gamma motor neurons (γ-MNs) control motor behavior by tuning the sensitivity of the muscle spindle (MS) stretch receptors.
