Experimental imaging of asthma progression and therapeutic response in mouse lung models

Mouse models have been a versatile tool in asthma research, however the application of imaging techniques to quantify hallmarks of asthma, to follow the course of the disease or to monitor treatment response are hampered by the small size of the mouse lung. Moreover, breathing causes substantial motion artifacts in most of the in-vivo imaging methods.
