  • Beschreibung: Because of the greatsuccess of the hardcover edition, this work on classic theories of emotion is now being released in paperback format. Over the last few years, emotions have been rediscovered as a central object of ethics, philosophical anthropology, and philosophy of mind. The subject of emotions has a long tradition in philosophy. Reflections on and theoretical explanations of feelings have belonged to philosophy since Plato and Aristotle. While many of these classical emotion theories have an indirect influence on contemporary discussions, others can open an entirely new perspective through their differences to today's thought. The present volume, which presents important theories of emotion from Plato to Wittgenstein, should show diverse points of connection with the current philosophy of feelings. Hilge Landweer, Freie Universität Berlin; Ursula Renz, ETH Zürich, Schweiz.
