Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play an important role in the development of the economy and contribute significantly to ensure sustainability, economic growth and wealth of nation. A strong and well-developed SME sector contributes significantly to innovation, exports and the creation of a modern entrepreneurial culture. The main task of the research was about SMEs in Germany and Georgia. The question of research was about concomitant economic conditions and how well the segment of SMEs in the Georgian economy is developing. As a result it can be stated that the economic environment is of high importance and clear recommendations for action can be derived.
