  • Beschreibung: This Review, one of a series of regular progress reports, summarizes the varied ways in which the Bank has engaged Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) at the global, regional, and national levels during this period. The Bank's dialogue with CSOs continued during this period on several longstanding and often controversial issues such as adjustment lending and safeguard policies, and on global concerns such as extractive industries and human rights. Formal consultation processes with civil society took place during this period on several operational policy reviews (for example, information disclosure, water resources), major studies (services for the poor, land management), and ongoing programs (Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers, Heavily Indebted Countries Program). The use of new technologies and formats such as video conferencing and web-based discussions were increased to expand the reach of these consultation processes to CSOs in developing countries
