  • Beschreibung: The article deals with the issues of ensuring long-term sustainable development of oil and gas companies by identifying promising technological directions of development and time lags for the emergence of breakthrough technologies in the field of exploration, production and processing of hydrocarbons. The main methodological tool is foresight technology, which allows you to get not just long-term technological forecasts, but to form the desired picture of the future and build development programs that ensure the achievement of the parameters laid down in the hypothetical picture of the future. In this way, companies will already be able to increase their production capacity by using modern innovative technological solutions to existing industry problems: increasing the share of hard-to-recover reserves, waterlogging of oil, etc. Solving these problems will indirectly lead to ensuring the social and environmental sustainability of companies in the long term. The emerging difficulties in the application of this technology related to staffing, as well as the growing interest in the use of foresight technology in Russian practice, both from practitioners and from representatives of higher education and academic science, are outlined
