Spanish Abstract: En este escrito, presentamos los aportes de David Card y George Borjas respecto a las inmigraciones y los efectos que éstas generan en algunas variables del mercado laboral, el estudio de algunos de los principales escritos de los mencionados investigadores permite indicar que las conclusiones a lasque arriban son bastante diferentes, además que emplean maneras diferentes de abordar el tema. Con el fin de realizar una adecuada comparación entre ambas aproximaciones, planteamos un marco de análisis basado en cuatro aspectos: el método usado en cada una de las investigaciones, el impacto sobre la oferta laboral local (vinculada con la migración interna), el impacto sobre los salarios, y la asimilación de los inmigrantes (brechas salariales)
English Abstract: In this writing, we present the contributions of David Card and George Borjas in relation to the immigrations and the effects that they generate in some labor market variables, the study of some of the major writings of the mentioned ones allows us to indicate that the conclusions at which they arrive are quite different, besides the fact that they use different ways of approaching the topic. In order to realize a suitable comparison between both approximations, we propose an analytical framework based on four aspects: the method used in each of theresearches, the impact on the local labor supply (linked with the internal migration), the impact on the wages, and the assimilation of the immigrants (wage gaps)
