This paper deals with the state of awareness in the matter of copyright rules among the Photostat machine owners who are using the machines purely for commercial purpose. A sample survey was conducted, to throw some light on the current state of affairs, with special reference to the violation of rules pertaining to literary works. The sampled data were subjected to statistical analysis, which led to interesting conclusions. A few suggestions to improve the scenario have also been appended
