  • Beschreibung: The concept of productivity has widely been used to assess the economic performance of firms, industries and countries. Productivity growth is usually calculated as the growth of outputs relative to the growth of inputs. However, simply observing productivity growth does not allow us how this is achieved or how it can be replicated. The standard measure of productivity growth will capture returns to scale as a kind of productivity effect which refers to a technical property of production that examines changes in output subsequent to a change in all inputs. In this context, this paper tries to analyze the relationship between farm size and productivity with reference to returns to scale in the cultivation of wheat crop in village Bijalpur of Indore district (Madhya Pradesh). It is found that the farmers face various issues in acquiring the fertilizers from the subsidized shops as there prevails corruption and the farmers have to pay more money that the pre-decided government amount
