Turkish abstract: Yerleşim alanlarının seçiminde doğal faktörlerin yanında tarihi, sosyal ve ekonomik faktörler de rol oynamaktadır. Bununla birlikte Türkiye'de fiziki coğrafya, özellikle jeomorfolojik faktörlerin yer seçiminde etkili olduğu görülmektedir. Bu nedenle yerleşme yerleri, organize sanayi bölgeleri, konut alanları, turistik tesisler, yol, köprü, kanal gibi alt yapı tesislerinin yapımında jeomorfolojik durum ve süreçler esas alınmalıdır. Özellikle yer seçiminde ayrıntılı jeomorfolojik etüt yapılmalı, olumlu ve olumsuz faktörler tespit edilmeli, sorunlara çözümler önerilmeli ve kullanım amacına en uygun alanlar belirlenmelidir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye'de kentsel amaçlı yer seçiminde esas alınması gereken jeomorfolojik özellikler değerlendirilmiştir.English abstract: Historical, social and economic factors play an important role as well as natural factors in determining locations of settlement. in Turkey, Therefore, it is seen that phyisical geography, especially geomorphologic factors are very important for determining the locations of settlement. The geomorphological conditions and processes should be taken into consideration the location of settlements, organized industrial regions, housing areas, touristic establishment, roads, bridges and canals. Especially geomorphological studies should be done, in determining the locations of settlement in detail to get the positive and negative factors. Through the results of the studies, some ideas should be presented to bring some solution to the related problems and the best areas should also be selected according to the results of studies. In this study, geomorphological features that should be aimed at determining the best urban areas in Turkey were investigated with the help of the studies
