Klassifikationen ermöglichen eine systematische Einordnung statistischer Daten in übersichtlicher Form. Um die Statistiken zu Konsumausgaben der privaten Haushalte zu strukturieren, geben die Vereinten Nationen die Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose und das Statistische Bundesamt die Systematik der Einnahmen und Ausgaben der privaten Haushalte heraus. Beide Klassifikationen wurden in den vergangenen Jahren grundlegend überarbeitet. Damit stehen für verschiedene Statistikbereiche wie die Volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnungen oder den Verbraucherpreisindex aktualisierte klassifikatorische Grundlagen zur Verfügung. Der Beitrag stellt die Arbeitsschritte der Überarbeitungen, die konzeptionellen Grundlagen sowie die wichtigsten Inhalte und Änderungen dieser beiden Klassifikationen vor.
Classifications provide a system for categorizing statistical data in a clear and concise form. For structuring household final consumption expenditure statistics, the United Nations published the Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose and the Federal Statistical Office issued the Classification of Income and Expenditure of Households. Both classifications were fundamentally revised in recent years. Updated classificatory bases are thus available in various areas of statistics such as national accounts and the consumer price index. The article describes the steps of the revision processes, the respective conceptual basis, the major content of these two classifications and the changes that were implemented.
