  • Beschreibung: Background: Wind energy is a clean renewable energy resource, which is very rich in China. China’s wind power development is fairly fast recently and has become a global wind power leader. Rudong County serves as a leading role in China’s wind farm production. Until now, no specific up-to-date review has been conducted to illustrate the development of Rudong wind farm. Under such a circumstance, this study aims to review the latest trend in Rudong wind farm development, the benefits gained, and the challenges exist, in order to present a specific epitome on China’s recent progress.Result: The expansive wetland rich wind resources and government support are the favorable conditions for Rudong wind farm production. The density of wind turbines on Rudong wetland is 1.2 ind./km 2. The annual generated capacity and installed capacity are growing faster in recent years. Conclusion: Although fast development is significant, challenges do exist. Coordination between management agencies is hard to organize, deeper depth construction has the technology difficulty, adverse impact to mammals, migratory birds and macrozooplankton also emerge. Going to the deeper water is the future development direction of Rudong offshore wind farm
