The approach most commonly used to check the accuracy of translation is backtranslation. While this helps to ensure a direct or literal translation, it fails to address issues of concept equivalence. Further, if not combined with pre-testing, it fails to address issues of comprehension and meaning to the respondent. The current paper suggests an iterative approach that results in better translations and more reliable and valid results for international marketing research
