  • Beschreibung: Introduction: Information and communication technologies have paved the way toward collaborative writing applications (CWAs) such as wikis and Google Documents, which hold the potential to enable real time use of evidence-base and response management in outbreak containment. This study aims to explore the depth and breadth of evidence for the use of CWAs to support knowledge translation (KT) in the context of a worldwide pandemic. In the specific context of KT during a viral pandemic, the purposes of this review will be to identify and map the literature on the use of CWAs; describe the evidence of each application’s positive and negative effects; inventory and describe the barriers and facilitators that affect the applications’ use; and produce an action plan and a research agenda. Methods and analysis: A Levac six-stage scoping review methodology will be employed to (1) identify the research question, (2) identify relevant studies and grey literature, (3) select studies, (4) chart the data, (5) collate, summarize, and report the data, and (6) consult knowledge users. Nine electronic databases and grey literature databases will be searched using all identified keywords to identify empirical literature published in either both English or French. Titles and abstracts will be screened by two independent reviewers. Full text of selected citations will be assessed against inclusion criteria by two independent reviewers. A customized data extraction form will be used to extract data from the included studies. The results will be presented in tabular form, accompanied by a narrative summary that align with the objective of this review.Ethics and dissemination: Research ethics approval is not required as this study will only include published and publicly accessible data. Review findings will be used to inform scholars and clinical stakeholders on the required next steps towards the uptake of effective strategies aimed at improving the wider adoption and success of CWAs in support knowledge management during disease outbreaks. Our findings will be submitted for publication to peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at relevant public forums and conferences
