  • Beschreibung: The goal of this write up is to analyze the importance of project management in public sector delivery. The aim of this write up is to see what other authors had to say about the subject of project management in public sector delivery. Many authors have noted that there is a positive relationship between project management and service delivery in the public sector. World over, public service delivery is increasingly becoming a problematic function of local authorities because of myriad combinations of factors. Population growth that is disproportional to resource supply is one of the major factors compounding poor sector delivery in most developing parts of the world. For instance, Africa’s population will grow from 1.2 billion in 2015 to 3 billion in 2020 (UNEP 2018) amidst poor economic performance. Public sector delivery creates obligations and duties: customers (ratepayers and residents) have an obligation to pay for services and local authorities have a corresponding duty to offer services. According to Eigeman (2017), customers deserve services that are accessible and of good quality wrapped in a friendly manner. Public sector delivery is a complex essential function of public administration. It is essential in that no modern economy. This write up shall presents the importance of project management in public sector delivery. The purpose of this work is to consider how to manage projects in the public sector. Due to the complexity of project management in the public sector, the choice of control variables is special. It is important to note that for some people, bureaucracy and corruption negatively impact the success of the project. In some instances if projects are not managed there are increased costs, government infrastructure delays, programs and corruption involving contractors
