  • Beschreibung: Despite the importance of education in terms of spending and its impact, dissatisfaction with traditional public schools is growing. Among many reasons, this article argues that many educational institutions suffer due to a lack of strategic focus. Utilizing qualitative interviews with more than 150 school leaders at 50 school districts representing more than 1,000 schools and 1 million students and quantitative analysis from a survey of 2,278 parents who rated their child’s school and their school’s performance data, the article provides a framework for implementing a customer-based strategy for educational institutions. Specifically, the authors (1) assess the state of K12 public education based on secondary data, (2) offer reasons for its underperformance based on the qualitative work, and (3) offer customer-based execution and strategy (C-CUBESTM) as a systematic approach to help K12 public education achieve its promise and potential
