  • Beschreibung: The collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008 and the resulting credit crisis that followed were two of the most devastating crises to ever have plagued the masses around the world. The Great Financial Crisis changed the actual economy and caused shockwaves that echoed throughout the entire planet. Whereas, in comparison to the GFC, the COVID-19 crisis has an entirely different origin, transmission mechanisms, and impact. The need for lockdowns and other containment measures to prevent the pandemic's spread has mostly been responsible for the economic impact of the crisis on different parts of the world. It comes as a no shocker that, what started as global health emergency has taken the shape of a hard-hitting crisis that has put a significant dent on economic and labour market. This paper is an attempt at comparing the everlasting impacts of both the crises with respective to the global labour market. Along with analysing the same, this paper shall also briefly study the impact of these crises on the Indian labour market
