  • Beschreibung: ESG criteria is a quantum of a company’s performance in the environmental, social and governance aspects. The value of a company can be understood not just by the profits it makes but also by the awareness and sensitivity it has towards the stakeholders and society as a whole. And so, the understanding and examining of these ESG factors has become significantly important over a period of time. The concept of ESG rankings when discerned in depth can be considered as an MCDM problem which intends to select the companies closest to the best solution on the basis of affecting factors. Thus, the paper focuses on using the TOPSIS method to study the performance of the companies based on ESG criteria using the MCDM technique and prioritize the companies for sustainable investment. The companies are ranked with a standardized method comprehending which company is the best taking into consideration the various environmental, social and governance factors. The proposed method is used for ranking the companies in the Electric Utilities & IPPs industry
