  • Beschreibung: This study analyses the determinants of tax revenue mobilization in seven of the world’s richest (G7) countries and the sixteen member states of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). A comparative quantitative research design is used. Regardless of the region (SADC or G7), tax revenue is needed by governments to manage fiscal and budget deficits. A comparative study of the determinants of tax revenue mobilization is therefore significant in fiscal policy and scholarship. Data for the study is sourced from the World Development Index (WDI) database. This is for the period 2000 to 2020. Panel data analysis was used to assess the determinants. The findings show that; GDP per capita, trade openness, Net Official Development Assistance and Official Aid (NODA) and FDI inflows have significant relationships with tax revenue mobilized (as a percentage of GDP). However, whether these relationships are positive or negative differed depending on the region. Recommendations for policy, practice and scholarship are made
