  • Beschreibung: During the recent times, the social nature of a corporation has become a heavily debated topic. Corporations gained a predominant position in the society due to the advent of the era of consumerism and digitalization. Given the overarching status that corporations hold in the society, it became vital for various actors like the state, the lawmakers, the economists, and the general public to extensively study the social nature of these corporations. India, being a diverse and developing country, itself, has on a large-scale began introspecting and reforming its corporate laws to be able to cater to the needs of the society as a whole. This article aims to capture the role of the state in the development of the social nature of a corporation, while suggesting means that the state can adopt to strike a balance between the stakeholder’s interests and the shareholder’s interests
