Agreeably to a resolution of the General Assembly, passed in October 1798, authorizing contributions "for the support of missionaries to preach the Gospel in the northern and western parts of the United States, and among the Indian tribes"--The people of this state are a third time reminded, that on the first Sabbath in May next, in the several religious societies and congregations in the state, contributions may be made, in the manner and for the purposes mentioned in said resolution. ... Given under my hand at Lebanon in said state, this 3d day of March, A.D. 1801
