<jats:p>An inexpensive and accurate system to measure wave velocities in detonation tubes has been constructed using piezoelectric type, coaxial transducer pins and solid state, one shot pulse amplifiers. This system uses the conventional manner of generating a symmetrical raster on an oscilloscope, and gives timing precision of better than 0.4% over 2.5 m of observation.</jats:p>
