  • Beschreibung: Adolescents who use cannabis are twice as likely as young adults to develop a substance use disorder (SUD) within the first year after first use, according to a new study from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Adolescents who use any substance — except for alcohol and nicotine — are more likely than young adults to develop an SUD within the year after first use; young adults are equally likely, according to the study, published as a “research letter” in JAMA Pediatrics. The study was published online March 29.
